Planica pot po dolini

Near Rateče it branches off from Dolina. It is bounded to the west by the Ponce ridge, and to the east by the two Mojstrovka‘s and Ciprnik ridges. The upper part of Planica passes into the Tamar or Zelje, one of the most beautiful gorges in the Slovenian Alps, at the end of which Jalovec rises in its distinctive form. From beneath it, a glacier descended into Planica in the Pleistocene, transforming the upper and middle part of the valley. The moraine deposited by the glacier covers the central valley floor.

The features of this area are presented along the trail through the valley.
